Located in the southeast of Hubei, on the south bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, Huangshi City covers an area of 4630 square kms with a population of 2.6million. It is an important industrial base of raw materials, a national information security achievement industrialization base, and an open city along the Changjiang River. Huangshi is convenient in transportation, with Beijing-Kowloon Railway and Jingguang (Beijing-Guangzhou) Railway and the golden waterway of the Changjiang River. Yihuang and Huanghuang Expressways run through the city. Huangshi Port is capable of loading oceangoing cargo vessels up to 5,000 tons.
